Marsico Nuovo is a fairly small town of 5,000 residents in the
southern Appenines in the region of Basilicata. It is located in the province of Potenza, which is at the western half of
Basilicata. It is mainly composed of farmers and most residents can be considered peasants. However, they are
not very isolated and enjoy all modern amenities.
